On a clear summer day, Pemaquid Point Light House is the place to be to enjoy the calming sounds and fresh ocean air. While
visiting here, we climbed down the point on the rocks and found a comfortable spot. The ocean sound calmed us down, the fresh
air was filled with the summer smell of the ocean, and the rhythm of the tide lulled us to sleep. The sound of a crashing wave
from the rising tide awoke us from our sleep, so we moved to another spot. While the surf here is very strong, it calms you to the
point of sleep in spite of its strength. With each crashing wave you get a new waft of fresh air filled with the smell of summer. You
have to visit the Maine coast in the summer in order to experience the smell of fresh air. Near the ocean, the fresh air is filled with
scents that are at full peak in summer. In the woods, the fresh air is filled with pine scent and moss. Each is unique and has a
calming influence over the senses, and if you are at rest they will put you right to sleep.
